Megaformer™ FAQs

How often should I attend Megaformer™ class?

We recommend three times a week to allow your body proper recovery time, but some our hard core clients love the the workout so much, they attend class four – five times a week.  Depending on your own fitness level and the intensity of your workout, you will need more or less time to recover.

What is the difference between Megaformer™ and Pilates?

The biggest difference between Pilates and Megaformer™ is, Megaformer™ challenges your endurance while Pilates allows more dialogue to hone the  mind-body connection.  The design of the Megaformer™ creates a non-stop endurance and stamina challenging workout, while Pilates has more cueing for alignment and specific muscle recruitment. Both workouts compliment each other. At 8 Springs Studio we feel Pilates provides the foundation to make Megaformer™ and all other workouts more connected and beneficial.

I’m pregnant, can I do Megaformer™?

Our clients who have been regularly attending classes may continue working out in Megaformer™ classes as long as they received approval from their doctors.

If you do not cancel your RSVP within 12 hours of class, you lose your class credit. If you have an unlimited membership, you will be charged a $25 fee for each occurrence. Classes can be cancelled and rescheduled with no penalty at least 12 hours prior to the class start time conveniently through our app or website.

If a reservation is not cancelled at least 12 hours prior to class or you do not show up for class, the late cancel policy noted above will be in effect.

Will my spot be given away if I am late to class?

We always appreciate a heads up with an email or call if you are running late, but our front desk staff cannot change your reservation after the 12 hour cancellation window. We WILL hold your spot for your reserved class - so get there as soon as possible and jump in. All scheduling and cancellations are done online or through our app.

Why is there a 12 hour cancellation policy?

We have to maintain a very strict 12 hour cancellation window due to the high demand and limited number of machines. If you should need to late cancel and there is an open machine sometime later that day you are welcome to drop in, however you may not pre reserve this spot and it is walk in availability only.

What should I bring to class?

  • Bring a hand towel, you will most likely sweat.
  • We require clients to wear socks with grip on the bottom. These are available to purchase at the studio.
  • Wear comfortable clothes that you can easily move in.  Similar to clothes you would wear to the gym.
  • Although we have water to sell, you may want to bring your own water.
  • Cell phones must be silenced during class.  Please be respectful of the other class members and the instructor.

I’m ready to take a Megaformer™, should I take a private first?

Our classes are designed to work in a group environment, so a private session is not required. Each client has their own machine and each exercise can be modified to suit your fitness level. If you have any medical conditions, injuries, back pain and/or joint pain, it is recommended to take a private session to assess your fitness level and limitations.

WHERE DID THE NAME 8 SPRINGS COME FROM?

The core of the Megaformer is controlled by the resistance of eight springs. This control is what allows for the dynamic movements of the Megaformer and how the name 8 Springs Studio came to life.
